Just stumbled upon something I'd never seen before: an embellished parchment imperfection.
Truly illustrates the medieval mindset of not wasting and making the most of the materials at hand:
From Poland, Biblioteka Narodowa, Rps BOZ 127, f24r, dated 1401.

This is apparently a Bosnian Cathar MS. I love that Picasso-like face!
Also, I don't know Bosnian, but the text on the right page seems weird compared to the rest. Cipher?
And look at those little m like characters... they look quite familiar!

Looks like Glagolitic as it was used around the middle of the 15th century and earlier (I notice it uses the old form of the A and borrows a couple of shapes from Croatian).

This is one of four 'Illirian' MSs in the Borg.Ill. collection that has been digitised.
Another interesting one, also in Glagolitic, is Borg.Ill.9 while the other two look more like Cyrillic writing to me.

In the first (now lost) letter from Moretus and Barschius to Kircher, and/or Kircher's response, somehow
Glagolitic came up, but the precise context is not fully clear. Bennett also mentioned Glagolitic in
reference to the Voynich MS.
The similarity isn't that great, except perhaps when compared to cursive Glagolitic, of which there are
a few examples in Borg.Ill.9.

That's a really amazing manuscript. It illustrates how much better than the modern man they were acquainted with the preferences of the memory, activating the visual and spacial parts of the brain.
