RE: Voynich Zoom CFP - Koen G - 05-01-2026 Our annual Voynich Manuscript Day conference is in the first week of August - two similar events for what is essentially a small pool of potential papers. Although with 5 months in between, it might be alright. Either way, I will attend this one as an audience member, not enough time to make something by the end of the month. RE: Voynich Zoom CFP - tavie - 05-01-2026 Shame they didn't pick the closest weekend to Voynich Day so that we could merge the events. There isn't much time to prepare for this one, and it's on a weekday. RE: Voynich Zoom CFP - hermesj - 06-01-2026 (05-01-2026, 10:50 PM)Koen G Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. The Historical Cipher Zoom is an online colloquium at the University of Wuppertal that has been running for several years. The spring edition will focus on the Voynich Manuscript (Klaus and I met Jessika last year at a workshop in Italy, where this idea came up). I would see it more as a way of attracting new circles of interested parties rather than undermining other events! See my reply to Koen. Any future events can certainly be planned in consultation! RE: Voynich Zoom CFP - Koen G - 06-01-2026 Don't worry, I understand! I'm surprised it took them several editions before they got to the Voynich ![]() Now that I think about it, I guess this will also reach different audiences than VMD, both in terms of presenters and viewers, so the events are quite complementary. RE: Voynich Zoom CFP - Mark Knowles - 06-01-2026 I have presented to this cipher zoom multiple times about 15th century cryptography, although not about the Voynich, and I referred Professor Bowen to this group who did a presentation about the Voynich. As the title suggests the cipher zooms cover all aspects of Historical Cryptography. Jessika Nowak is super-friendly and enthusiastic. |
