writting hand / Currier hand - quimqu - 09-10-2025 Hello, sorry to post this thread but it is for me not clear what is the difference between Currier hand and writting hand. I suppose that the scribas are writting hand, but what are the Currier hands? Thank you and sorry for this basic question. RE: writting hand / Currier hand - Koen G - 09-10-2025 When people talk about Currier, they are talking about statistical patterns in the text. "Currier hand" might be scribe 1 (A) vs Lisa's B-scribes, I guess. Though when you see "Currier A", the "language" is usually what is meant. As it is named "Currier hand" there should have something to do with Currier, but I don't see it clear. Thank you anyway. RE: writting hand / Currier hand - RadioFM - 09-10-2025 It's Currier's personal assessment of scribal hands AFAIK. He believed there were somewhere between 2-8 scribes involved in the handwriting. RE: writting hand / Currier hand - RobGea - 11-10-2025 From Curriers 1976 talk where he presented his opinion on the vms handwriting and LAAFU amongst other things. "Some Important New Statistical Findings" by Captain Prescott H. Currier (from the Proceedings of a Seminar held on 30th November 1976 in Washington D.C., edited by Mary D'Imperio, moderator) You can find it online : You are not allowed to view links. RE: writting hand / Currier hand - LisaFaginDavis - 11-10-2025 As laid out in my 2020 article (You are not allowed to view links.
