Reading Plant Names on Voynich by Chris Alex - ChrisG - 03-08-2025

I built an alphabet and started translating the plants section. I will upload here the plants mentioned that read with images to compare them with the images on the folio. Hope it helps.

I will try to upload at least 1 new a day

The alphabet is almost ready there are still 4 letters I am tuning, although it already allows us to read most words which we validate with an official dictionary after decoding, will share it soon.

Hope it helps.

It’s not really clear what you’re trying to do here.

In which language(s) do you “read” those words that are mentioned in your Facebook’s posts? Is it a single language or a mix of languages? Is (are) the language(s) indo-european and is the grammar (word construction first and foremost) consistent with 1400s?

Do you think voynechese is simply a different alphabet / substitution cypher?

For example in your latest post from 3 hours ago you state that “on 55r, it mentions purify with agarwood, garlic, desert rose(...) + other roots and resins”. Can you explain your process and how do you go from voynechese to this translation?

What is your interpretation of EVA daiin?

Good morning Yavernoxia,

i will use this section to add names of plants that appear on the folios after decoding and translating, looking up the plants mentioned on the text and then I check whether they look the same.

The L1 (original language) is a common language spoken nowadays which I will post soon, it is just 1 language using a coded alphabet as per what I have seen so far, take into account that people in later centuries have added a few words and letters specially when trying to send a message or decoding. Grammar is consistent, it was written in Europe.

Everyone has theories of what language it could be and what each glyph means, the variety of this helps us all to slowly get closer to what the voynich is about.

I will post the process I have used on this website soon happy to help!

As per the alphabet I am developing, the Eva glyphs daiin result in "then" or "after that" which I validated with official dictionaries containing 1400's words.

Hey Chris can you upload the theories here instead of facebook links? That would be appreciated by me. I am curious

Hi Kendiyas,

I added a link below each folio for you so you can see it all without entering facebook. Take into account the number of images in 1 post, that would be too much.

Best!

Chris

Hey Chris now I can see them thanks. We need to see how you are reading the manuscript though some of those matches seem farfetched to me.

Sure, tell me which one you have doubt with and I can double check the translation again.
