Well, I agree that that explains his (by definition) negative attitude towards the activity he mentioned, but at least he was aware of it. Whatever it is. In any case I am asking around what this is...

So, interestingly, dr. Stefano Cavagnotto is specialised in things like Business Strategy, Ethics and CSR, Financial Intermediation, Corporate governance and history of economic thought and policy.

He also has a strong background in mathematics and logic.
I also received feedback from Prague that: "I´m sure these lectures about the Voynich MS aren´t scientific research because the orientation of the educational program of this university is entirely for business."
This fits with dr. Cavagnotto's background, and it is also echoed in the original announcement.

So, to agree with @scarecrow: curious indeed.

Guess somebody found a loophole in the awarding of grants.... must have been the only arts project the Uni put forward, and so he got the whole budget. That would explain the three year bit....
All conjecture, of course, I have no idea!

On 22 June 2021 two colleges of Prague, Prague College or Akcent College, have come together under the umbrella of Prague City University.

Apparently they have been doing Voynich MS research already from 2015..

"One of the most fascinating documents in history, the mysterious Voynich MS has a deep connection with Prague and the figure of Georgius Barschius who owned the manuscript in 1639. After more than three centuries, the meaning of the manuscript is still unknown, and it represents one of the most interesting challenges for linguists, crypto-analysts, computer scientists, and passionate manuscript scholars."
