Empirical medicine - Pansy herb has been used medicinally since at least the Middle Ages. It was at times considered a key children's medicinal plant and was used for skin rashes, coughs and seizures. - Today, it is traditionally used mainly for the external treatment of a number of skin diseases (various exanthems, eczema, acne, seborrhoeic dermatitis, cradle cap, napkin dermatitis) as well as for itching as washes or compresses. - In folk medicine it was used for colds and other upper respiratory tract complaints (e.g. cough). There are also reports of its use for rheumatic complaints and urinary tract problems. In the past, it was used as an ingredient in metabolic teas or so-called blood purification teas. It was said to have mild laxative, diuretic and diaphoretic effects.

RE: Viola: Transcriptions - R. Sale - 09-03-2021

Thanks.

The question I have is how early were any of the V. tricolor illustrations or monographs produced? Older herbals apparently used V. odorata. The VMs is categorized as tricolor, so the comparison of historical herbal texts with the VMs is problematic.

That difficulty can be avoided with a different plant identification. There are a number of historical monographs on cannabis, several of which would seem to accurately refer to the same plant identification.

Having secured a topic, is there any structural similarity with the VMs text to be found in any of the historical herbal texts?

Currently there are zero proposed text examples for any VMs plant identification, so things are pretty even.

I've got the last letter which has small difference to R as L and a few words made sense. I am not sure yet./ If you delete patterns for first lines, it turns to:

G.A.L ,D.R.D.S , J.D.L, V.D ,J.M.L

1. Gal > Gol گل flower
2. دردس
pain is
3.   جدل
one meaning of the word is organ
4.  بد< ود
to be
5.   جملاء جمال< جمل
Beauty , Beautiful
گل درد اس جدل بد جمل
So It may say It is flower of pain and it's beautiful. Also we can take it as Dardas flower but I don't know any species with the name.
REALLY CONFUSING
