As for the blue, why not.
I have looked in the swiss idiotikon.
Here it goes from bla to blowen to plauwen.
Actually you should believe that in a region always the same spelling is used. ( error )
High German was only recognised as a general spelling around 1890. Before that Alemannic was the predominant spelling. The VM corresponds to this.
If 3x blue occurs in a row, the gentian blooms, or an alcohol therapy is due. blau blau blau blüht der Enzian tralalalala.....
