New C14 calibration curve - Anton - 31-08-2020

Just read on FB that the new C14 calibration curve for Northern hemisphere has been released, named IntCal20.

So I wonder whether that would introduce any changes into the VMS dating results (most probably it would not).

(Note: dates are usually in BP format, which means before 1950, ie, before we started heaving nuclear bombs around).

From the "Implications" section:

The IntCal20 curve provides meaningful differences regarding the timing of the beginning and end of the Younger Dryas/GS-1 cold period in paleoenvironmental records.....

I am no expert, but it seems it doesn't affect things as "recent" as the VM.

The differences between IntCal-04 -09 and -13 were essentially negligible. IntCal-04 was used for the Voynich MS by the Univ. of Arizona.

I can give it a try (once I find the actual data).

Nor do I think there is any difference to be expected. The samples have been cleaned from surface dirt.

But I am curious about the results.
