The bottom image represents Jesus and his disciples entering Jerusulem; the tax gatherer You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.is depicted hiding in the sycamore tree. One heck of a tree, with interesting "branches" that brings to mind You Know What.
The same tree imagery is repeated in the Announciation of the Nativity, where we see the shepards lift their heads towards the angels; two goats and a sheep graze behind them.

I find this very stylised sort of a tree fascinating, is it part of a local tradition?

It's similar to some of the trees used for vices and virtues and for mnemonic purposes, but most of the ones I've seen have text and this one doesn't. It is interesting.

Since the tree has three branches, and it is about religion and faith, I would guess the "Trinity".
