Out of principle I'd rather if people would check themselves before voting.
It might seem tedious at first but it literally takes 10 minutes, coffee break included.
What I find really frustrating is when people whom I know have counted things simply ignore the poll.
Perhaps they think polls are stupid and the PWCAU subforum is useless.
I don't want to single people out for the wrong reasons, but I know for a fact that some forum members who have been reading these counting threads have already carried out a count for many of these things on their blog/website, and their counts match mine, yet they abstained from voting here.
I am curious about the reasons for this.

I already wrote once why I don't feel like participating in the voting, but it is not my intention to dissuade anyone else, so I don't want to repeat it or stress it.
If I found anything that was definitely wrong (and not just a matter of opinion) I would almost certainly point it out.

I tried going through the archives of this subforum looking for your reasoning on this, but all I found was your comment on the question of palimpsests (that this a technical question that cannot be answered by a popular vote).
I agree that polls cannot resolve such issues. However counting things is not a technical question which requires multispectral images or paleographic training, so I don't think that applies here.
If there is something about the polling process that can be fixed or that you would like to discuss please don't hesitate to say so, here or via PM!

I vaguely remember that Rene posted something of the kind. I don't think that we deleted that (no reason), but there was the "Coventry event".
Anyway, there is absolutely no obligation to vote; speaking of myself, I'm sometimes too busy or too tired to engage myself in voting, because voting assumes thorough assessment of the statements.

It was about what we think about this manuscript.
I don't find where is this thread.
I voted.
After a short discussion, this vote was cancelled, if I remember well.
I don't remeber either who initiated this vote.
Just to say that, for me, the title of the vote is more important than the initiator of this vote.
Maybe there is an interest in this vote, but I didn't see it.

The polls in this subforum are not idle or otherwise general polls (as may be introduced from time to time by our users in other subforums), but serve the purpose of creating a corpus of recognized facts about the Voynich Manuscript.
