Sorry, David!  [Image: blush.png]

My opinion is that they are related.

I agree with the You are not allowed to view links. Harley 2558 was You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. a couple of years ago. From the BL site: "The manuscript is a composite miscellany of botanical, surgical, medical, magical, astrological and prognostication texts written in the 13th-14th centuries and assembled with his own autograph additions by the 15th-century English physician, Thomas Fayreford."

The ms is not illustrated, but for a handful of marginal sketches (I might have missed a few others):

Martagon lily, f.42v
Stomach, f.92r *
Worms, f.106r

Spasms f.139v *

* These are comparable with those in Voynich f116v.  The woman patient is also comparable with f66r.

I find the goat particularly interesting. The page is about the cure of kidney stones. In the list at the top of the page, "goat blood" is mentioned (item #12: "sanguis yrci"). Apparently, the goat was added before the two recipes at the bottom (the text flows around the sketch). The first and longest of the two recipes (also about goat blood) lists the plants that must be fed to the goat and this also appears in the illusration.
