to do: long words visual inspection - Davidsch - 22-03-2017

(I hesitate to post this, because I always get "what do you mean" and "why don't you do it yourself" reactions on my thread postings,
but, hey,  let's try it again, the worst thing that could happen is a ban.)

This question came to my mind and it needs investigating. It concerns long words, words longer than 7 characters.

So, 8,9 10...+ long.

Question:   Are they really long words by visual inspection?

Currently I do not have the time, but it's pity if this idea goes wasted.

By visual inspection, many long vords appear to be "compound words" (VMS-style), longer units composed of shorter ones. I have some stats on this but sorry, can't post right now. Work calls, gotta run. Undecided

Hi Davidsch,
Thank you for starting this thread.
I was wondering what folios the vords occur on. I tried typing them into Voynichese.com to locate them but got no results for several of them. Same when I tried the transcription available on You are not allowed to view links. Would it be possible to update your list to include folio numbers for these vords? Or could you point me towards a link where I can find a correspondence between line number and folio number?

Hi VViews.

Please do mention 1 or 2 words you can not find: I can always check.  But everything I post and analyze is based on the texts on my site. See here You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.

In general I use:   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. Voynich transcription text CAB (#229)
