RE: Voynich Reconsidered - dfs346 - 20-07-2023 Further thoughts on medieval Italian as an underlying language of the Voynich manuscript; and specifically, a possible mapping between Italian suffixes and Voynich final glyphs. RE: Voynich Reconsidered - dfs346 - 24-07-2023 Here are some thoughts on "wild cards" in the Voynich manuscript, and an experiment in mapping to medieval Italian. You are not allowed to view links. Here I calculated Italian letter frequencies on the basis of Dante's La Divina Commedia, edition of 1472. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. RE: Voynich Reconsidered - dfs346 - 30-07-2023 I received alert that a Singapore-based person or bot has been harvesting posts on the Voynich manuscript. Have deleted Voynich-related posts on GoodReads/Amazon. Interested readers may contact me directly. RE: Voynich Reconsidered - Aga Tentakulus - 30-07-2023 Why should this be relevant if someone in Singapore is collecting something on the VM? And why did you delete something? It all seems a bit strange to me. RE: Voynich Reconsidered - dfs346 - 30-07-2023 Automated harvesting of posts could be a precursor to a plagiarized publication. How would you even notice that someone is "harvesting" posts as opposed to reading them or downloading them to their kindle or whatever? RE: Voynich Reconsidered - ReneZ - 30-07-2023 This sort of harvesting has been done before in many cases, so I dont doubt that this is going on again (or still). All post to the old mailing list, for example, were stored in a web site with 'voynich monkeys' (or something similar) in its name. There used to be several places where you could buy a PDF printout of my web site. Probably still exists, and no, I was not the seller ;-) RE: Voynich Reconsidered - tavie - 30-07-2023 (30-07-2023, 10:05 AM)dfs346 Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. Two researchers of the Voynich manuscript observed downloads of many of their posts from an IP in Singapore. |
