RE: The reproduction of roots as healing objects - JoJo_Jost - 03-01-2026 And here is the view from above, although it is harder to see what I mean. RE: The reproduction of roots as healing objects - JoJo_Jost - 03-01-2026 Gemini, who created the image for me, then pointed out that if you look at it as a root, it looks very much like the plant: arrow grass. The AI explicitly referred to the turrets of the original and gave me a link to it: I looked at it and was extremely amazed. Precisely because it actually has the contours of these turrets/vessels. But it is very, very small... I cannot judge how far one could have seen it in the Middle Ages with a magnifying glass and a little coloured vinegar. But the similarity is interesting. If you look at the stars held in the hands of the nymphs and view the pictures of the flowers from a bird's-eye perspective, you will recognize the stars again. The theory that the plants in the Voynich Manuscript are plant spirits that animate them is consistent with the ancient belief in nature that spread from the Vedic tradition in India far into Europe. I have included several PDFs in my theory that address the old beliefs. These also include texts by Helmut Birkhan and Wolf-Dieter Storl. also the poppy theory and the bird's-eye view You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. RE: The reproduction of roots as healing objects - JoJo_Jost - 03-01-2026 Sorry, I must have had the wrong perspective. It's not a wall, but a kind of ‘celestial canopy’. Here is the revised version. But then we would have the connection with the stars here. Register or Login to view.I launched Gemini and tried to capture everything in the image. In my opinion, it got the towers mostly correct: round, squat, with Russian-style onion domes (which are quite different from the German/Austrian onion domes, and from the "Mediterranean" hemispherical or "helmet" domes). Although it is possible that the "squat" was just a stylistic liberty, and the Scribe actually thought of the height:width ratio of the tower body as being twice of what he drew. In the second version you posted, the "starred canopy" looks almost right. But on the VMS it is not attached to the towers. It floats in mid-air, with the "tassels" reaching out through the gaps between the spires of the towers. I would say that most of the rest is incorrect. The hatched bands in the VMS drawing probably are meant to indicate a sharp difference of elevation between each circular walkway and the next inner level. I don't know what the "tombstones for dots" are supposed to be, but they are not what Gemini drew. And it is hard to tell how the "pipes" were supposed to be pointing, because the Scribe is very bad at perspective. But my guess is that they were supposed to be horizontal or partially tilted up, like cannons. Which maybe is what they were meant to be... And finally Gemini ignored the wolkenband just above the pipes, which I suppose means that the whole island above the "artillery deck" is up in the clouds... All the best, --stolfi RE: The reproduction of roots as healing objects - JoJo_Jost - 04-01-2026 @ Stolfi It's not that Gemini created this solely from the image; that doesn't work. I had to give it very specific instructions, and it's very difficult to get Gemini to change small things. So please understand this as an approximation, not perfection. In addition, I only focused on the circle in the middle of the nine circlesand, as already mentioned, created it in the context of a possible cross-section of a plant. But here's something else: Here is a schematic representation of the structure of a flax fibre: You can see the different circles. The bast fibre bundles are also not round. There are different shapes in the outer areas of a stem, where water is usually transported: round, angular, oval. Especially when you ‘stamp’ to see them, the proportions change again. Then there is this picture of flax fibres. Here you can see such ‘tube bundles’. And also differently shaped circles. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. "In herbaceous plant parts, they are often grouped together in vascular bundles, the strands of which can be seen with the naked eye when a stem is cut open." source: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. The impression of a curve in the circle is created by the fact that the tubes cannot be shown from above, as they would then only be circles. There are so many different plants. And very few plant cross-sections on the internet. Finding the exact plant that is possibly depicted here is almost impossible. But you can make out the different areas, as they repeat themselves. And strangely enough, these circles and structures fit in almost perfectly, as i have shown. -------------------- I find it much more plausible that a book that is almost entirely about plants would not suddenly describe something that has nothing to do with plants. It is understandable that a section on astrology would appear in such a book. Astrology itself is important for plants. The course of the sun, moon and stars has always been observed to determine planting and harvesting times. And the (healing) powers of plants have been associated with astrology. The nymphs with their tubes fit perfectly into the idea of harnessing the power of plants. The consistent similarities between the vessels in all these images show that something belongs together here. But why should a world map, castles or even cannons appear in such a book???? That is actually much more far-fetched. This does not mean that the theory presented here is better, but in my opinion it is definitely closer to the context. RE: The reproduction of roots as healing objects - JoJo_Jost - 04-01-2026 Here is another cross-section of the pipe bush, with six vascular bundles. The prevailing view in the Middle Ages was that what happens on a small scale also happens on a large scale. "Quod est superius est sicut quod inferius, et quod inferius est sicut quod est superius." Maybe he interpreted the conductor tracks as towers. These towers are the solid "pillars of the earth" (according to the understanding at that time). Between them, the fabric stretches like the sky over the earth, or perhaps even like the Milky Way as a band. Source: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. |
