It is quite possible that the illustrator has distributed the faces and thus the position of the nymphs in the section in this way. Then he probably changed his mind and moved the lying nymph further up because it fits better there. The nymph below stands free without another in the background. Otherwise the row of nymphs would have been visually "disturbed". RE: Thread for random remarks and questions about Voynich images - Scarecrow - 11-05-2021 Some new bathing images I've found lately. Some look somewhat familiar. RE: Thread for random remarks and questions about Voynich images - bi3mw - 11-05-2021 (11-05-2021, 06:46 AM)Scarecrow Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. Now I am worried to post anything anymore, but didn't find this picture here with any of the keywords. Maybe I don't know to use the search here. Sorry if duplicate too. Bibliothèque nationale de France, Français 2810, detail of f. 129v (pilgrims bathing in the Jordan). Guillaume de Boldensele, Liber de quibusdam ultramarinis partibus (trans. of Jean le Long). Then you can find them with the search function, otherwise not. Your new find is quite interesting. It somehow reminds of illustrations in Quire 13. Here is the link to the manuscript ( you can see the rest of the picture on the left ). You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. People may use a link but fail to use the full title for the ms/reference RE: Thread for random remarks and questions about Voynich images - bi3mw - 27-07-2021 This illustration looks to me like the nymph is drinking from a vial. Do you see it that way, or do you see something else ? RE: Thread for random remarks and questions about Voynich images - Helmut Winkler - 27-07-2021 I rather see a spoon with a never ending stream of liquid coming out of it, the mouth of the nymph is not touching the 'spoon handle', the nymph has her arms tucked behind her back, strange to say, what I mean to say is I see a nymph with arms bent behind her back looking at a spoon from which comes a stream of liquid - not that I would bet on this RE: Thread for random remarks and questions about Voynich images - Koen G - 27-07-2021 I also wouldn't be too certain about this figure, it's very unclear and confusing. Especially the object, it almost seems like it is articulated. At the furthest part from the nymph, it looks like a rivet holds two halves of the oval together. |
