Thanks for the additional information, but I believe Solomon's Seal (Polygonatum) or rather, its rhizome corresponds much more closely to the drawing, especially in terms of its significance and function. This is largely due to the circular markings on the rhizome, which reminded people of that protective seal. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Aga Tentakulus - 29-09-2026 But it’s certainly not a Seal of Solomon. But if that’s what you think, so be it. Question: did you always lose at Memory? RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Radim Dobeš - 29-09-2026 Please finally understand that the plants in the VMS are composites; they are not realistic botanical drawings. The VMS is not a medical treatise. The illustrations in the VMS are spiritual reflections of plants, intended to mirror a religious text—or rather, a parable. Incidentally, my example of the Solomon’s seal root is a much closer match than your example involving *Dentaria glandulosa*. The stem, leaves, and flower cannot be compared, as they originate from different sources. I apologize, but I must stand by my interpretation. I do agree with you, however, that the rest of the plant is different. Yet I could be mistaken, and you might be right. I repeat: this concerns only the root. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - ololololo - 29-09-2026 The root of the VMS plant is cut, which is evident from the perspective. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Linda - 30-09-2026 I think the vms drawing says it will grow from pieces of root, and that if you give it a Chelsea chop, you get more flowers. I love brassicas, I think I need this plant for my garden. There are still problems with the ID though, too many petals. But yes I agree it looks much closer to Cardamine than Solomon's Seal. I don't think anything in the VMS is "evident", but that's just my opinion RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Radim Dobeš - 30-09-2026 Let me offer one more visual comparison. The root—or rather, the rhizome—is certainly not that of *Dentaria* (or *Cardamine*); large concentric circles are clearly visible on it. I am not usually one for such minute scrutiny, but this feature is very conspicuous. More importantly, however, there is the question of why the plant depicted is Solomon’s seal (*Polygonatum*). This points to a specific way of interpreting the VMS: it illustrates that even what has been severed by earthly life and sin remains under divine protection, and that what was once divided will be reunited in purity. That is how these plant illustrations should be read. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - DG97EEB - 30-09-2026 The only problem is every species of Solomon's Seal has the same kind of drooping bell shaped flowers and never in blue.. now I'm prepared to accept that the flowers and roots may be mixed up, and I actually agree with Radim that the root is much more like that than the other proposed, but I think we again risk too many degrees of freedom if we just assume that there's a mix and match game going on.. on that note, has anyone put forward a concrete and obvious example of where this mix/match has actually happened? Yes, here is an example showing how the root of one plant was combined with the aerial part of another. A small inset features a third plant, where the root has been replaced by a representation of Behemoth.

When that sketch was copied to the Herbal, the "Artist" apparently misinterpreted the scars as cross-sections. All the best, --stolfi |
