If I can give you an advice, the less coding one needs to do on something which is not essential for the target one wants to reach, the better.

If I'm allowed, I'll share an anecdote which influenced my whole working career. It's also mildly fun  Cool

About 45 years ago I had to write a Fortran program for an exam at the university (it ran on an Univac mainframe, of which I only ever saw the punch-cards reader and the printer, which took a whole room by themselves...). I ran into a problem I don't remember, so I went to seek help from an assistant professor. There's a queue of students waiting, and while I wait for my turn another student goes to the professor and says he is trying to write a random number generator, but it doesn't work, and gives a big printout to the professor. The professor looks horrified at the hefty pile of paper and then starts yelling badly at the poor student, I remember him saying "Ma qui è tutto un labello!!!" = "There are labels everywhere!!!". Then he asks the student "But, why do you need to code a random number generator?" And the student answers "I need to generate three random numbers for the project of..." (I don't remember what). And the assistant professor replies, even angrier than before: "You need three random numbers??!! 15, 67 and 122, and now get out of here!"

It was pretty much scary to see, and I discreetely walked out from the queue, just for safety Big Grin . But that day I learned an invaluable lesson.

Omg it is funny JAJAJAJ. I get the point. The good thing is that whatever I do, the other steps can work properly!

... and had a distinct smell, which I still remember...
