However, I do see a connection when viewed in the context of the previous image. Furthermore, you can count 50 small spheres on the plant in folio f95v2 and look into the significance of this number in relation to Mount Sinai—you will discover even more. However, I've definitely come round to finding Radim's matching of VMS images with other sources intriguing and potentially valuable. Some of the matches are quite striking, and might give others some ideas of how to understand them and where to look. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Radim Dobeš - 06-08-2026 Explanation of the imagery on folio f78r. 1) This depicts part of the story of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. 2) The sun and moon are shown in the upper corners; the Book of Enoch states that light consists of seven parts, divided between the sun and the moon. 3) A bucket hangs above the sleeping youths in the cave, and the light from the sun and moon streams into it. 4) This divine presence sustains the sleeping youths for 200 years. 5) Upon waking, one of them, named Malchus, goes to buy bread. 6) He pays with a 200-year-old coin in the marketplace, astonishing the onlookers. 7) This is a story that symbolizes eternal life for the righteous. This drawing depicts the scene where Malchus is buying bread with people standing behind him; these are no longer the Seven Sleepers, but ordinary people at the market—see the comments and, for instance, the scene in the stained-glass windows. stained glass from the cathedral of Rouen RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Oscroft - 07-08-2026 (07-08-2026, 12:33 PM)Radim Dobeš Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. The color green does not represent water; rather, it denotes earthly phenomena. Blue also carries a different meaning; it typically represents celestial phenomena or water (e.g., the River Jordan). I intend to describe this color-coding system in some detail. Naturally, there is disagreement regarding the depictions of nudity and nymphs. I maintain that they represent various figures—angels, saints, ordinary people, stars, planets, and so on. Nudity serves as a symbol of purity (see Hesychasm). I understand, of course, that you may not agree with this view. RE: Voynich is encrypted ENOCH - Jorge_Stolfi - 07-08-2026 (07-08-2026, 12:00 PM)rikforto Wrote: You are not allowed to view links. How the upper seven (female, awake, naked) nymphs could represent the seven (male, sleeping, clothed) youths of the legend is a bit unclear to me. Which is not helped by having one of the Sleepers (not drawn on the VMS) later buy bread from eight naked ladies, which look just like the seven upper ones, in a market place that had just been flooded knee-deep. But presumably their oven and bread shelves escaped the flood by being on a higher ground, just outside the page. All the best, --stolfi |
