I photographed many additional examples on buildings in Verona during my recent Italy trip, but I haven't yet been able to take the time to determine which are early enough to warrant being added to Koen's map. During my December break, that is on my list of things to do.

AS NOTED in post #298, the flags and the shield on the crow's-nest to the right appear to show rough versions of the Visconti serpent - in case someone missed it.

That's a cool example, it looks like it is in the tradition of the Limbourg brothers, but much later. Unfortunately a bit too late to be relevant for the VM.

I think this is the northernmost fresco (1330-1340) that I found by chance. I had to look twice. Near Chur, that's quite unusual.

There is nothing and there was nothing, and I couldn't find anything either. So why?
