You are right Don, but I am investigating the jars now for over 2 years and the cube has a probable connection with the contents of the jars.

There is an edition of the Experimentarius by Charles Burnett, What Is the Experimentarius of Bernardus Silvestris? Archives d'histoire doctrinale et littéraire du moyen âge 44, 1977, pp. 62–108. Reprinted in Burnett, Magic and Divination in the Middle Ages, Aldershot 1996, I don't know a translation
