Actually, Torsten, you are completely wrong about my work on Scribe 1. I disagreed with Currier on nearly all of his scribal identifications other than Scribes 1 and 2 in the herbal section. I attribute the pharmaceutical leaves to Scribe 1 not because they are A but because they are written by the same hand I identified as scribe 1 elsewhere in the manuscript. They happen to be A as well, but that is not why I attribute them to Scribe 1. Currier made many important observations about the manuscript, but he had absolutely no experience with medieval paleography.
