Register or Login to view. I think it's probably a monocot, as opposed to Sunflower (which is a dicot). The leaves covering the stem as a sheath is a monocot characteristic if I'm not wrong.. And you are right Common Man, the leaves in the VM drawing do appear to sheath around the stem. Here's some more cereal crops (also millet?) from related MS (Historia Plantarum).
