But @Juan_Sali observed You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. that the picture goes with the poem(?) on the facing page, which is about autumn ("herbst").  The text for winter, and its allegory, would be on the following page.

Does anyone have a transcription and/or translation of the poem on the page of the Laufenberg book that is facing that lady with staff and rosary?  The poem about "herbst" (autumn), not the next one about winter?

[Why isn't there an option to search a specific thread only?]

All characters are grouped around a wheel
The young man pointing up is one of the best matches for the VM imagery.
Instead of the man with the bottle, we have a middle-aged man with a sack of money.
There is also a character with both arms raised as seen in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. and f86v4

Quote:The Ages of Men grouped around a wheel

Would anyone be willing to read the text?

It seems to me that the text gives age ranges:
Childhood 0-14
Adolescence 15-24
Adulthood 25-49
Maturity? 50-79
Senility? 80-

Here is my guess, squeezing out the last bit of Latin from my tube:

generatio[ne?]
pue[?]rtita usq[ue] ad an[n]os IX
adolesce[n]tia a 14 an[n]o usq[ue]? XXVIII a[n]nos
juue[n]t[ute?] usq[ue] ad XLIX a[n]nos
vi[ri?[litas a L[esimus] usq[ue] ad LXXIX a[m]uu[m]
senert[us?] a 80 a[n]no usq[ue] i[n]fie[n??]
Corruptio

Birth
Childhood until 9 years old
Adolescence from year 14 until 29 years
Youth until 49 years
Manhood at 50 until year 79
Senility from year 80 to infirmity
Decay

I mostly agree, but I think it is "senectus a 80 anno usque in finem" (from year 80 to the end).

Looking at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. of this Royal MS, the thought occured to me. What if the nymphs are a secular corruption of the angels?

[..]

The VMs details figure is clearly a lady.
The VMs „rosary“ wears braids and is not even close to a rosary, but much more to wreath.
The „cane“ of VMS figure is just an assumption: we can see not more than a small piece of it, maybe the handle of a cane, may something completely else (another braid for the „rosary“…?)

We can continue to „see“, what is not there, and not to see, what is there, and continue to make comparisons of parts that are not comparable.
But I suggest Wysiwyg.
