RE: Georg Baresch - Prague 1624 - EllieV - 11-10-2016 Hi Carl, The language that is refereed in the first line may not be Czech. I am comparing the first symbol with what looks to me like E from the paragraph above the one about Bares. I could be wrong. RE: Georg Baresch - Prague 1624 - EllieV - 11-10-2016 The sixth line has some fairly easy recognizable word - ... year from the birth of Christ the Lord (letha od narozeni Krista Pana). RE: Georg Baresch - Prague 1624 - -JKP- - 11-10-2016 Exaltationes would be Latin. When it's at the beginning of a letter, it's usually as we say, "your eminence" or "your highness" in English. "Oh most exalted one"—the salutation to someone important. In a general sense, it refers to something "up there" (high, overhead, of greater importance, exalted, or a prominent person).
