RE: Monas Hieroglyphica f1r MS-408 Key FOUND!!! - david - 04-10-2016 Pi to 15 digits was first found in the 1590's. There was a flurry of publications around then, after a new technique of "approximating the polygon" allowed mathematicians to push the number of known digits further and further. That was towards the end of Dee's life, he returned to England at the end of the 1580's. And don't try to kid me that Dee independently calculated Pi to 15 digits a couple of decades before the new technique was found - if he had, he'd have shouted the fact to the sky to gain patronage. He wasn't a skilled mathematician by any account, he was a polymath. RE: Monas Hieroglyphica f1r MS-408 Key FOUND!!! - ReneZ - 04-10-2016 As already pointed out by several people, the method of reducing every word to a number from 1 to 9 allows any completely arbitrary solution to be 'proven'. The label ydaraiShy matches every ninth person that ever lived, even without altering the spelling. One can then try out first name only, last name, both names, initials and alternative spellings, and basically match with everyone who ever lived. A very clear indication that one can make anything match anything was provided, when it was found that a number of characters in the MS text were misread in the first reading of 'pi', but with the corrected reading it still 'worked'. |
