RE: More Germanic influences on the VM zodiac (another crossbow human Sagittarius) - -JKP- - 08-02-2021 I think it's undeniably related to ÖNB Cod. 1842 and perhaps also loosely related to Sieben Regimena (the background is different some parts are thematically similar): If you ignore the crossbow but retain the single-jug clothed Aquarius, and as many of the others as possible (especially the clothed and preferably male/female Gemini), it is also somewhat similar to a few more going back to the 13th century or so. Just a casual stroll with the crossbow. The bull in that MS is also good. Genimi and Virgo though... |
