Hey! Just so you know — nowadays, April in Catalan is abril. But aberil could totally be a medieval spelling of it. Back then, people used to throw in extra "e"s all over the place, and Catalan has dropped a lot of those over time. So yeah, aberil sounds like a pretty believable old-school version of abril.

Thanks for the reference [Yulia 2017] in Post #8, Marco. It seems to answer the question of 'where' and speaks to 'wherefore' as well. For what reason has the person writing the VMs month-names chosen to use "aberil" rather than "Aprilis"?
In the last two lines, Yulia suggests that two languages were used to confuse the reader. It is a tactic that was also used by the VMs artist, two structures to create the VMs cosmos, intentional duality in VMs White Aries, etc.

I am limited in my search across borders. However, I also see possibilities as far as the County of Gorizia.
If the spelling of month names can be roughly attributed to some region, is it possible to get a few samples of texts in this spelling variant from the same region?

Possible.
The most likely place is in the Diocese of Chur. Everything related to administration. Chur Archives.
According to the map:
Glarus GL (marked in blue) has already joined the Swiss Confederation. The others belong to the Grey League GR (Graubünden).
The white area (lower Calven) belonged to Tarasp and already speaks Bavarian (dialect) with Samnaun. Apart from the Rhaeto-Romanic.

By googling “Aberil” together with a few German words, I found a votive painting published in the journal of the Muri abbey in Switzerland (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.).
The painting was made in Muri and the text includes the date “Anno 1688 den 30 Aberil”.
Muri is about 25 Km West of Zurich.

I think René meant in Glarus, or any German-speaking area: -bre is definitely French (langue d'oïl and langue d'oc=Occitan).
