Different folios within each section were written by different scribes. E.g. she suggests the Rosettes foldout was written by Scribe 1 and Scribe 4. RE: A commercial project aimed at women from high society - LisaFaginDavis - 07-06-2024 @Pepper is correct. In my published work, I have identified five scribal hands, but I never argued that the different sections were each written by different scribes. Just the opposite, in fact: Herbal (including the herbal bifolia later in the manuscript): Scribes 1, 2, 3, and 5 (the work often - but not always - varies by bifolia, suggesting that the bifolia are out of order) Astronomy/Astrology: Scribe 4 Balneology: Scribe 2 Rosette: Scribe 2 (text side) and Scribe 4 (diagram side) Pharmaceutical: Scribe 1 Starred paragraphs: Scribe 3 See this document for details: You are not allowed to view links. Hi, zamolxe: Actually, we don’t say Hartlieb is a potential author but we do talk about how his attitudes may useful to predict those of the Voynich author(s). Here is the string that discusses the underlying publication that this article is written about : You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. |
