RE: Dating a Cipher - Mark Knowles - 11-08-2022 If a lot of people think it might be Greek minuscule, but nobody knows it well enough then I could contact an expert on it and see what their opinion is. If it is Greek minuscule then the archive need to know, because it has been completely misclassified. If it is indeed a cipher then there is still the question of dating. If it is Greek minuscule then presumably some of the Greek should be readable. If it is in cipher then deciphering it may prove difficult as the text is not long. Anyway I have emailed somebody who appears to be a specialist in Greek minuscule, so if I am lucky I might hear back from him in the not too distant future. Of course if it is a cipher the problem of dating it remains.
