Why not Georgian?   It has its own alphabet which even looks a bit like Voynichese.   Can anyone here understand it or a related language?   I don't speak a word of it.   There are plenty of web pages in Georgian we can scrape.


A few years ago I took the time to learn the Georgian alphabet (and some of the scribal conventions) and learned to read simple words, but that is as far as I got. I don't think the alphabet has much in common with Voynichese other than being a constructed alphabet (as opposed to one that evolves over many centuries).

However, I have a vague recollection that a native Georgian came by and said he'd checked out the VMS and couldn't see any relationship between Voynichese and Georgian. I don't remember exactly what he said, but his name might be here on an older thread somewhere.
