Another good Swiss handwriting match to f116v - magnesium - 09-08-2026

This one is a single leaf found among the volumes of Cod. Sang. 1396, a series of fragments from the library of St. Gall. I have not scored it comprehensively using Koen and Marco's rubric, but it is very good:

It certainly feels very close!
I've gotten a bit rusty at filling in the sheet, but it comes out 43/402, which is good but not as good as the last one ;)

Interestingly, sometimes the letter b is written as B and as b.
What could this be related to?

The upper part is more or less looped, or the loop is smaller and less visible, but it is the same letter, based on the Greek sigma σ. Because of this second loop, it looks more like a small B.

As I mentioned before, the author designed his cipher to look like Latin in order to hide the fact that it isn't actually Latin Wink

Or maybe he was just familiar with Latin? If I was making up a script or cypher, I expect I'd base it on scripts/languages I already knew (perhaps even subconsciously in parts) rather than inventing something completely from scratch.
