Origin of the Shield Shape in the Solar Folio of the f85-86 Foldout - Dobri - 26-04-2025

The distinctive symmetric shape of the shield in the solar folio of the f85-86 foldout might have a specific origin.

A similar shape from the late 11th century is depicted in the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view., written in Beneventan script at Monte Cassino, Italy.

The letter 't' in the Beneventan script was written "You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.".

My best guess is that the big C + the black word stands for "cum omnis".

If the Voynichese glyph is like this, then it probably stands for um or un. Almost nothing starts with "um-". I guess un- is a bit more common, like "unus" and its derivates.

The second symbol of the red embellishment on the right-hand side of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. resembles another letter from the Beneventan script (from the Bari Exultet Roll).

Yes, it's the beginning of the first chapter of Sancti Aurelii Augustini De vera religione: "Cum omnis vitae bonae ac beatae via in vera religione..." You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.

Ligatures actually: "cie", "re", and a missing "h" added above the word.

This means that in the second red embellishment (below the first one which could be u or v) in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. there is a letter m.
