An interesting name for a death metal group from Portugal: The Voynich Code.

It's interesting to contemplate how popular culture has assimilated "Voynich" as a mysterious mime capable to generating such allusions in a name.

As a big esteemer of the metal scene, I also inquired once whether the subject of the VMS found its way into the lyrical themes; to my surprise, the instances appeared to be not so numerous.

I was not aware of The Voynich Code band.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed by neither. There is a good saying "de gustibus non disputandum", but to me technical death metal is actually all about solos, and when there are no solos it's just boring. The theme is explored in other genres nonetheless, and the Discogs search query for "Voynich" yields some results (though again not too many).

Ambient and drone are not my favorites, but for the sake of record.
"de gustibus non disputandum" is undisputable Wink

to my taste (born eclecticist) all of the above are "cheap", the least (I erased cheesy because cheese is a lovely thing).

that dronari*m thing does not have anything to do with drone music, at all.

for some weird reason I feel tempted to initiate a "stoner rock" band project called "the voynich..." (dots intentional, PM me if you are interested, haha)

but most probably it would never get released, because people and even band members would understand ñø†åsÍ~©..
