The Voynich Manuscript as a Research Subject
Seminar in the Summer Semester of 2026

The program ran through July 23, 2026. The results will be made available to the public.

I don't know if the course is offered annually or not, or when the “VoynichSC” website is updated. But there's already a lot of interesting material to explore there (unfortunately, in German).

Jürgen Hermes includes the VMS in his teaching from time to time (there is also an early post: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.), but it apparently has been a while since the last time according to his university profile. A higher frequency probably wouldn't make sense for his digital humanities institute... might become a bit repetitive. Over the years, he has published a lot of great and easily accessible material, starting with his PhD. Mostly in German, but I think this helped raise the interest from German academics (myself included) quite a bit.

Update: The videos from “Voynich Studies Cologne” are also available online on YouTube in a playlist. However, the content here is from 5 years ago. On YouTube, you can set the subtitles to English or another language (E02–E04).
