This will come as a surprise, I have found the authors full name and I believe he was a You are not allowed to view links. This is symbolic and a metaphor and I don't think he is implying a sabor tooth tiger.  It's Leo Mec saying he is speaking in tongues and it's depicting a cat symbolic of Leo with it's tongue sticking out in August.

L'histoire d'un Mec. Big Grin
In determining provenance for a time, I want to set the record straight.  Michael or Wilfred Voynich or Wilfred Wojnicz depending on the flavor of the day for Wilfred Voynich with a name and initials.  He creates a false author Leo Meco as a red herring when in fact he is a forger and the author of MS-408.  Sorry for the confusion, but its a complex system, he hoaxed us all with.

I agree with proto57 that the Marci letter with its troubling Latin and other anomalies that it is forged or fake.
