Hahaha, now that would be brilliant if I believed in a hoax theory - which I don't. Just for you though, I will conduct a formal comparison:



At first glance, one might say Tendrilface and W. Voynich share the same facial features. They both have a moustache, a beard and a prominent, round nose.
Closer inspection, however, reveals significant differences. Mr Tendril is either bald or has a scruffy hairstyle, while Mr Voynich's hair is neatly combed back.  Mr Tendril's forehead is straight and prominent, while Voynich's forehead slopes back, continuing the line of his nose. Finally, Mr Tendril has a much fuller moustache and a longer beard.

This is fun, any other suggestions? 

Another random observation, I'll slap it onto this thread. 

I'm pretty sure this leaf depicts a wineskin. Note how it has the "stitches" running across the middle, like in the Greek examples on the bottom. It also has been given a little extension on the bottom that is similarly placed like the loop in Greek wine skins. I'm not saying this points unambiguously to a Greek origin though. Such animal skins were used in various cultures to hold liquids. They are rather popular subjects in bible studies as well, apparently, because of the expression about "new wine into old wineskins".



The leaf is from f88v, part of the root-and-leaf section, which, as I've demonstrated profoundly, is very mnemonic-heavy.
