Register or Login to view. has traffic from 1991-2001 and I have traffic from 2008-2013 in search of a home.

So the known gap is 2005-2008?

Quote:I have found it easy to chop unix-style mbox files into mh-style directories of files, one per message.  Then to discard each message file that lacks a first line saying something like "From owner-vms-list@voynich.net  Sun Mar  9 13:57:14 2008"
or a line like "To: voynich@rand.org" and then reconcatenate the remaining files.

Yeah, that is basically what I do.  But it is not that simple.  For instance, for several years I used a mail tool that would replace the "From " line with "From [tool name]".  So I must also check the "From:" and "Sender:" lines in the message header.  But then there are digests and forwards with several embedded "From:" lines...

Just adding that I think it would be good if a simple searchable archive is gathered somewhere. These mails represent countless hours of people doing Voynich research, so they might always contain information or leads on current research topics.
Voynich.net is crowded by some fake accounts posting casino advertising etc.
Is it hacked or did someone just lose control/interest in it?

Thank you for the heads up, Stefan: I've been a pretty bad host, certainly. But making my one man show more difficult seems to be some new ability for the hackers to either crack or side-step my Capcha feature.

It used to be more difficult for them, as they had to... I think in all cases... sit down and solve the Capcha. Maybe I'm wrong about that... but the recent, post February 2026 flooding of the site with spam accounts seems to imply it is no longer a barrier for them. I'll look into it.

I took down well over a hundred accounts, and more than that number of disgusting posts.

Thanks again, Rich
