Is there a possibility to trace the VMs materials origins ? Did anyone every tried to match the manuscripts style of making with any of the contemporary places that made books ? Was chemical analysis of the VMs materials ever performed ? 
Now that we know that Karl Wideman could likely be the person who sold the VM to Rudolf II., what if we could actually find similarly made books somewhere around southern germany or northern italy ?
