Hi all! Looking forward to everyone's presentations tomorrow.  Mine will be on unusual line patterns:  how glyphs behave differently in various positions in the line and paragraph and how they might be influenced by the line above.
11:50: Zoom tells me that the host has another meeting in progress...
I just started the meeting!
The slides for my talks are attached.

(Sorry, I couldn't answer any questions.)
Such a great group of presentations! Much to think about.
Happy Voynich Day!

Thanks again to Koen for stepping in and chairing, and to Merri for the idea and planning.
With great relief I can announce that the meeting recorded successfully. I will upload separate clips to YouTube next weekend, when I'm back home.

Well done all presenters, I had a great afternoon. And also thanks to everyone in the audience for asking interesting questions!
Damn, I got the PST/CEST time change mixed up!  Glad it went well - congrats to the presenters. I look forward to seeing the videos!
Lots of new angles in the various presentations!

And just when it all begins to look impossible to model, it also clearly appears that there is a pattern or a system behind this chaos.
I have to admit that I was often so focused on taming Zoom that I was not able to pay full attention to some of the presentations about the text, which were extremely well researched but also presented an overwhelming amount of information. All research was well presented, for example Emma explained statistical concepts well.

But as the data was being presented in the text-focused talks, I felt myself losing the forest through the trees, wondering how things fit into the bigger picture. I believe that people who delve deep into Voynichese textual statistics have developed a better feel for this, which people like me are lacking.

I think it would be extremely valuable to the community if someone was able to write an "explain like I'm five" version of these talks, trying to focus on the bigger picture and how Emma's, tavie's and Patrick's findings relate to each other. This might be an assignment even the authors themselves struggle with, but it would be an invaluable exercise.
