In some cases they are quite short, with meaningless text they will be even shorter. If codified, will they be long enough to have a meaning?
It was from studying labels that I initially formed this hypothesis. I think Labels (Labelese) are most probably Voynichese at its simplest form. Assuming that labels are what they appear, i.e. independent pieces of text linked to independent illustrations, then they can be studied and compared as many small separate isolates pieces of text. When I did that I noticed that there were occasions where the same text label was attached to completely different illustrations. There were also occasions where two adjacent labels were identical except for one glyph difference. It became clear to me that some labels had very predictable spellings whilst others did not. These reasons and others lead me to the view that some labels were meaningless and some meaningful. I suspected that the same applied to the text as a whole, not just labels.
