I think the Kircher link has been posted before, but it was such a long time ago, I can't remember if it was here or on someone's blog, so it's probably worthwhile to post it again.

I just happened to be searching Italian archives and when looking at this archive I noticed it had a lot of correspondence of Kircher. I have been trying to compile a long list of Italian archives, but there are some that don't fit neatly in the main categories: state archives, diocesan archives, commune archives, university archives, library archives, history of the homeland archives, monastery archives, Vatican archive. Identifying archives that don't belong in an obvious sense to the standard types of archives is hard, sometimes it is hard even if they do belong to standard types.
