Mostly for fun, but also to improve my understanding of the text, I occasionally play around with methods to generate text that looks like the Voynich MS text.
Just to show an example , the following is a very straightforward 'encoding' of a short piece of Italian.
This can still be tuned a lot, and I'll refrain for the moment from explaining how it was done.
However, it can be inverted exactly, i.e. a very simply process will turn this back into legible Italian (though spaces
are lost).
First in Eva, then in Voynichese:

Remarkably, the entropy of this text (skipping spaces) is:
1st order: 3.7705
conditional: 1.2110
I have clearly 'overdone' it with the conditional entropy.
I am aware that this is not exactly like Voynichese. Maybe I can do better in the next weeks.

I don't have a sample, but it would be appropriate for a sample of Torsten Timm's text generation to be posted to this thread.
I don't know if Torsten is reading the forum these days, but if so, it would be nice to have a paragraph or so from his algorithm. If he's not around, maybe someone else can do it? I don't have time to download the software (which I assume is available on the Web?), but maybe someone already has it?

Gordon Rugg's text, and the text of Torsten Timm (of which I can't remember seeing a sample) are both arbitrary texts, i.e. they don't encode a meaningful text. If I understand correctly, the same is true for yours.
That is fine of course, but I am also interested in Voynich look-alike text that represents a meaningful text. Perhaps even more.

Ah! That is a completely different question.
- Creating text that is very close to the VMS demonstrates an understanding of its structure. Rugg's text does not look like Voynich text. I don't even have to search the text to know that certain combinations (many of them, actually) are completely invalid and are NOT in the VMS.
- Creating text that is very close to the VMS text AND is meaningful is stepping it up another order of magnitude and is quite a difficult task.
I looked at your text again, René and even though I can tell instantly it's not Voynichese, it is pretty good and much closer to Voynichese than Rugg's pseudo-Voynichese.
Even though it doesn't generate meaningful text, I would still be interested in seeing some of Torsten's text to see how it compares to yours and Rugg's in terms of fidelity to original VMS text.
I didn't want to try this until I was back home, but I simply can't resist.
Okay, this is NOT good Voynichese, but I did this in less than 15 minutes and I
know if I had an hour or so to work on it (which I don't right now) I could do much better, but here is a quick and dirty example...
These are grammatically correct sentences in a major medieval language. The passage is from a well-known text:

I'd be able to encode a meaningful text (e.g. by replacing random inputs by ASCII codes) but I the reverse process would not be possible as information would be lost.
